  • In a color TV receiver, a signal which is added to the luminance signal to produce one of the three primary signals. For example, in RGB there are three color-difference signals, which are the R-Y signal, the G-Y signal, and the B-Y signal, where R is red, G is green, B is blue, and Y is luminance. Each of these signals feeds the red, green, and blue channels respectively.
