critical flicker frequency
  • For a given luminance, the frequency of light fluctuation that evokes a sensation of flicker. Above this frequency, the perceived flicker disappears. The perception of flickering is also influenced by the retinal field-of-view, and color. Also called flicker frequency (2), or flicker fusion rate.
