doubler

- A circuit or device whose output frequency is twice that of its input frequency. May consist, for instance, of a
__stage__whose resonant output circuit is tuned to the second harmonic of the input frequency. Also called frequency doubler. - A
__rectifier circuit__whose output__DC voltage__is about twice the__peak__value of its input__AC voltage__. Such a circuit separately rectifies each half-__cycle__, then adds the rectified voltages. Also called__voltage doubler__.
