• A circuit or device whose output frequency is twice that of its input frequency. May consist, for instance, of a stage whose resonant output circuit is tuned to the second harmonic of the input frequency. Also called frequency doubler.
  • A rectifier circuit whose output DC voltage is about twice the peak value of its input AC voltage. Such a circuit separately rectifies each half-cycle, then adds the rectified voltages. Also called voltage doubler.
