electronic calculator
  • An electronic device which performs arithmetic operations. These can only accept numerical input, and usually have liquid crystal displays or light-emitting diodes for displaying the results of calculations. Almost all calculators can store numbers in memory, many provide additional functions such as logarithms and square-root calculations, and some are programmable. The latter usually incorporate a CPU, and may accept plug in cards. The only moving parts of such a device are its keys.
