magnetoresistive head technology
- A disk drive head technology which enables higher storage densities than older methods. It makes use of magnetoresistive materials, which respond better to the weaker magnetic fields of individual bits as storage densities increase. In addition, magnetoresistive heads have separate read/write elements, with each optimized for its function. Its abbreviation is MR head technology.
