  • A computer designed to utilize light to process or store data. Examples include systems which employ magneto-optical recording of data, or those which make use of optical circuits capable of ultra-fast parallel processing.
  • A computer which can utilize light to enter, process, store, or present data, be it through its design, modifications performed, or the in incorporation of the necessary peripherals. For instance, a system utilized for recognition and identification of fingerprints, faces, or the patterns of ocular blood vessels.
