phased array
  • An array of antennas, or antenna elements, which are simultaneously fed, and whose relative phase can be varied electronically. An example is such an array of dipoles. Used, for instance, to produce multiple simultaneous beams, or to integrate signal information received from its spatially separated elements. Also called phased array antenna, phased antenna array, or phased antennas.
