reactive power

- The power in an
__AC circuit__which cannot perform work. It is calculated by the following formula:=*P*·V·sinθ, where*I*is the power in watts,*P*is the current in amperes,*I*is the voltage in volts, and sinθ is the*V*__sine__of the__angular phase difference__between the current and the voltage. Also called reactive__volt__-amperes, idle power, wattless power, quadrature power, or volt-amperes reactive. - synonym reactive volt-amperes
