ripple
  • An AC component present in a DC output, such as that of a rectifier or power supply. This results in slight fluctuations in the instantaneous value of said output. Usually due to incomplete or improper filtering. Also called ripple component, or ripple current (1).
  • Slight fluctuations in the instantaneous value of the response of a component, circuit, or device. passband ripple is an example. Usually expressed in dB.
