World Wide Web
  • Its abbreviation is WWW, or Web. A global system of servers which support the same protocol, usually a version of HTTP, to exchange documents in specific formats, such as HTML, and which functions as the primary manner of exchanging information between the computers which comprise the Internet. The content of the WWW is usually accessed via a Web browser, and users proceed from Web page to Web page clicking on hyperlinks or icons, typing the address, accessing a bookmark, and so on. The amount of information available through the Web is extremely vast, with billions of pages already in existence, with any given page possibly having audio, pictures, streaming video, text, hypertext, and so on, or multimedia combinations.
