zinc silicate
  • A mineral whose chemical formula is Zn2SiO4, and whose color may be white, yellow, green, blue, brown, or red. It usually exhibits fluorescence under UV light, and may also show phosphorescence. Used, for instance, as a phosphor, and as a source of zinc. Also called zinc ortho-silicate, or willemite.
